Most of our downtown businesses have reopened at this time. Please note that business hours may be a little different than you're used to so if you're going to a specific business, please check their Facebook page or website for their hours of operation.

Please continue to abide by social distancing guidelines and wear a mask while shopping in Downtown Alpena. Our Downtown Merchants are doing the best they can to abide by the rules and regulations in the executive orders while also ensuring all visitors to downtown feel safe, comfortable, and welcome.

Resources for Businesses

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) has announced additional relief grants for businesses. The application will open Tuesday, January 19 @ 9 am and will remain open through Friday, January 22 @ noon. Funds will be allocated and distributed through Target Alpena at the Chamber by February 28. An independent committee will review applications.
Businesses fully closed can apply for up to $20,000; partially closed up to $15,000.

The Alpena Area Convention & Visitor's Bureau
The CVB has a page on their website with a lot of really great resources and information for business owners, employees, and more. 
The Alpena Area CVB is also moderating a Facebook Page where they are sharing more resources and updates daily. This group is for Alpena area owners and managers of local businesses and organizations that have been negatively impacted by COVID19 mitigation activities.

The Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce has a page on their website about loans, grants, and other resources for businesses.
