Help beautify downtown this summer!
Help beautify Downtown Alpena again this summer by sponsoring a flat of flowers that will be planted downtown! For $50, businesses, organizations, or individuals can sponsor a flat of flowers that will be planted around the downtown tree boxes. A small sign will be placed near each tree acknowledging the donation of each sponsor. After you donate, we will reach out to you to confirm what you would like written on your sign.
This year's flowers will be a combination of native perennials (coneflower, foxglove beardtongue, and black eyed susan) and annual begonias.
We will be hosting a flower planting and clean-up day on Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 9 am- noon to plant the flowers and get downtown ready for the summer season!
*Please note there is online processing fee for credit card donations. Donations may also be mailed to Alpena DDA, 124 E Chisholm St, Alpena, MI 49707.

It’s always exciting when a new project to beautify the DDA district is brought to us by someone who appreciates the value in small investments that have a big impact, thanks Julie! Planting vibrant flowers in the tree bases will add visual appeal and make the DDA even more spectacular this summer season. It has been my pleasure to work with Anne Gentry, Rachel Smolinski and Julie Dietz on this project and I can’t wait to see the flowers in full bloom.”
