Experience downtown in full bloom at the 2026 Alpena Flower Festival, presented by Alpena Agency & Auto-Owners Insurance! For three days in June, Downtown Alpena brims with beautiful floral displays, interactive floral photo-ops, live music, kids' activities, floral themed vendors, and blooming good energy to kick off the summer season.
2026 Schedule of Events
Thursday, June 4- Petal Pub Crawl
Preview what’s to come while sipping themed cocktails during a lively pub crawl through downtown bars and taprooms starting at 5 pm.
• Check-in with your team in the Center Alley (back entrance to Mango's) between 5-7 pm to get your welcome packet and instructions. Each team member can collect their own cards. Pre-register by June 1st to get team swag: https://forms.gle/Szn8hungR5UQnxPB6
• At each participating stop, pick up a floral card. Buy a drink and swap a card. At the end of the night, leave your cards at any participating stop. Winning hands have a chance to win Downtown Dollars and floral themed prizes: 4 of a kind (2 winners @ $50), full house (2 winners @ $50), or find the mystery flower that will be handed out over the course of the night. We’re not revealing which flower it is, but if you find it, you’ll win an automatic $75 in Downtown Dollars!
Volunteers will be posted up at participating stops from 5:00 PM – 9:30 PM- but the fun continues as long as each spot is open! Floral outfits encouraged. Grab some friends and enjoy a lively night out in Downtown Alpena.

Friday, June 5- Opening Night Celebration
The festival blooms to life with an energetic evening full of music, vendors, and freshly installed floral displays throughout downtown.
4 - 6 pm: Live music at Water Street Commons from the Alpena Street Performers
Enjoy live music and stroll through the tiny shops on the corner of Water & 2nd Ave! Summer vendors are BluBlends Smoothies & Acai Bowls, Calia's EmPURRium, Mana Wellness, and Sassy Soda Co.
4 - 8 pm: Vendors on 2nd Ave
Stroll down 2nd Ave, check out local shops, and explore a lineup of floral-inspired vendors on the street. Vendors include: Rose Lynn Clay, Twin Flame Bodywork and Massage, Lulu Lily & Company, Priority Health, KendrArt, Dast Fam LLC, Charley's Botanical Blends, So cute Clay Company, The Cozy Batch Company, Byelich Farm Creations, Ribbon's n Wreaths, Lovely Little Lettering Co, Kay's Permanent Jewelry, Bella's Enchanted, Crochet Crafts by Leslie, and Flower Fest participating florists.

10 - 2 pm: Imagination Playground with United Way in the Pocket Park
Kids can enjoy creative and free-play with the "big blue blocks" provided by the United Way of Northeast Michigan as part of their Imagination Playground. Located in the Chisholm St Pocket Park by the fish mural.
11 - 12 pm: Flower Fest Storytime at Alpena County Library
Join the library for a free storytime and themed craft, where kids will create an air-dry clay flower! Located at 211 N 1st Ave.
11 - 1 pm: Bouquet Bar @ Glik's with Classic Designs by Doreen Thomas CF
Build your own bouquet and get some retail therapy at Glik's! Located at 111 N State St.
11 - 1 pm: Kids 3D Flower Activity @ Thunder Bay Arts
Bring the kids to paint their own 3D flower with Thunder Bay Arts! Located at their back entrance in the alleyway at 127 W Chisholm St.
11 - 4 pm: Flower Fest Festivities at Shear Envy Salon
Join Shear Envy for permanent jewelry (Linked by Ash & Jo) from 11-3 pm, a Brim Babe hat bar (12:30-4 pm), and wood flower bouquets for sale (11-2 pm). Located at 212 N 2nd Ave.
12 - 2 pm: Flower Fest Braid Bar & Flower Market on 2nd Ave

The street comes alive with live music all day on 2nd Ave as part of the Folk Society's Spring Fling Fundraiser.

Grab a bouquet from Classic Designs by Doreen Thomas CF and Flower Fest swag from Lovely Little Lettering Co, set up in the alleyway.
11- 4 pm: Brunch & Blooms
Stroll through the installations one more time and enjoy breakfast and drink specials at downtown bars and restaurants. Ask for your drink in a Social District cup to enjoy while you stroll downtown!
2 - 3:30 pm: Gouche Garden Markers with Art in the Loft
Create floral garden markers with Mariah Brancheau of Lovely Little Lettering Co! Pre-registration recommended; walk-ins accommodated as supplies last. Located in the Pocket Park; or at Art in the Loft in case of inclement weather. $40. More info here.
