Using Downtown Dollars as a Business Downtown Dollars work like cash. They come in $5, $10, $20, $25, and $50 increments and should be treated the same way if someone was paying with cash. If someone pays for a purchase in Downtown Dollars and needs change, you can just give them change as you would normally. |
Redeeming Downtown Dollars
As a business owner you can redeem Downtown Dollars that have been used to make a purchase at your business at the DDA Office (124 E. Chisholm St) or at the Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce (235 W. Chisholm St). You will receive a check for the same amount of Downtown Dollars that you turn in. You can collect Downtown Dollars over a week, or month, or redeem them as needed.
